BroadData Conference Link Increases Ease Of Use And Quality Of Service On Operator Assisted Calls
Have a Specific Use Case or Questions About Conference Link? Call us at 1-877-321-2255 for a Custom Solution Based on Your Specific Operator Assisted Conferencing Needs
BroadData Conference Link is a browser-based tool that gives call Participants multiple convenient ways to join an Operator Assisted conference call from their desktop computer, laptop, tablet or mobile device.
After entering their information, Participants can choose between two connection methods:
Call My Phone – Allows the Participant to have the conference call the telephone number they provide.
Call From This Device – Allows the Participant to connect directly through the internet using the microphone and audio output of their computer, tablet or mobile device.
Conference Link enhances the experience for Participants joining Operator Assisted Audio Conference Calls by making the connection process more flexible, efficient and user-friendly.
Traditional Participant dial-in numbers will still be provided as usual. Conference Link complements those numbers, giving Participants the flexibility to choose the available connection method that works best for them.
Customer Benefits of Conference Link
- Multiple Connection Options: Participants can have the conference call their telephone, connect through the internet using their device audio or use the traditional dial-in numbers provided with the call instructions.
- Faster Access to Conferences: Participants using Conference Link bypass traditional live Operator-answer hold times and can join the conference more quickly.
- Accurate Data Collection: Participants enter their own information, helping ensure correct spelling of names, company details and other requested information. This data also feeds into our Live Conference Manager for smooth Q&A facilitation.
- Improved User Experience: The streamlined connection process makes joining large Operator Assisted calls quicker and easier, enhancing the overall Participant experience.
- Customizable Information Collection: The Conference Link form is configurable, allowing you to collect specific Participant information, such as email addresses, that would otherwise be difficult for an answering Operator to gather.
How Conference Link Works:
- Easy Access: Participants click the Conference Link included in their invitation. This opens a dedicated webpage where they enter requested information such as name, company and email address.
- Choose a Connection Method: After entering their information, Participants select either Call My Phone or Call From This Device.
- Call My Phone: The Participant enters a direct-dial telephone number and clicks “Call My Phone.” The platform promptly calls the Participant and connects them to the conference. This is the original Conference Link functionality, previously called “Dial Me.”
- Call From This Device: The Participant joins through the internet using the microphone and audio output of their computer, tablet or mobile device. The browser asks the Participant to allow microphone access before completing the connection.
- Flexibility in Joining: Conference Link does not replace traditional dial-in numbers—it complements them. Participants can dial into the conference directly, use Call My Phone or connect through Call From This Device.
Two Convenient Conference Link Connection Methods
Call My Phone
Call My Phone is the updated name for the original Conference Link “Dial Me” functionality.
The Participant enters a direct-dial telephone number and clicks Call My Phone. The conference calls the Participant at the number provided, and the Participant follows a brief prompt to complete the connection.
Call My Phone allows the Participant to join without dialing an access number or waiting for an answering Operator during a busy conference-entry period.
Call From This Device
Call From This Device is a browser-based internet audio option that allows the Participant to join the Operator Assisted conference using their computer, tablet or mobile device.
The Participant connects using the device’s microphone and audio output or through connected headphones, earbuds or a headset. The browser asks the Participant to allow microphone access before completing the connection.
No separate telephone line, conferencing application or browser plug-in is required. On mobile devices, Call From This Device works over WiFi or cellular data. iPhone and iPad users should use Safari.
When Call From This Device is used on a mobile phone or tablet, conference audio may play through the device’s primary speaker. Participants who require privacy should use headphones or earbuds.
Why Choose BroadData’s Conference Link?
- Simple: A Conference Link is provided on our call confirmation; you simply include it in the invitation or instructions provided to call Participants.
- Participant Choice: Participants can select Call My Phone, Call From This Device or one of the traditional Participant dial-in numbers provided for the conference.
- Convenience: Participants can connect through a simple browser-based Conference Link without needing to remember a conference access number.
- Speed of Entry: Conference Link eliminates traditional Operator-answer hold times and simplifies the connection process, especially for larger conference calls.
- Telephone Audio: Participants who prefer telephone audio can use Call My Phone and have the conference call them at the number they provide.
- Internet-Based Audio: Participants can use Call From This Device to join through the microphone and audio output of their computer, tablet or mobile device without using a separate telephone line.
- No Software Installation: Call From This Device operates through the Participant’s browser without requiring a separate conferencing application or browser plug-in.
- Error-Free Data Collection: Participants directly enter their own details, such as name, company name and email address, helping ensure accuracy.
- Email Collection: Conference Link allows for easy collection of Participant email addresses, which are typically not collected by answering Operators from Participants who dial into the conference.
- Customizable Information Collection: The Conference Link form can be configured to collect information appropriate for the specific conference.
- Flexible Options: Conference Link complements traditional dial-in access and gives Participants multiple ways to join.
- Enhanced User Experience: The easy-to-use browser-based platform provides a smooth and flexible connection experience.
- Live & Post-Call Data: Participant information is passed to and visible in our Live Conference Manager so the call Host and BroadData Operator team can identify Participants and properly facilitate Q&A. Collected Participant data is also available for post-call Participant List reports.
BroadData’s Conference Link is just one of many features designed to simplify and optimize your Operator Assisted calls. With multiple connection methods, improved data collection and faster conference entry, Participants enjoy a more seamless experience, allowing you to focus on what matters most: the content of the call itself.

Conference Link Complements Traditional Participant Dial-In Numbers
Conference Link does not require clients to eliminate traditional Participant dial-in numbers.
A call invitation can include:
- Domestic Participant dial-in numbers
- International Participant dial-in numbers
- A Conference Link offering Call My Phone and Call From This Device
- Separate connection instructions for Speakers
Participants can choose whichever available connection method is most convenient.
Providing Conference Link along with traditional dial-in access gives Participants multiple ways to connect and allows them to select the method best suited to their circumstances.
Participant Information and Live Conference Manager
Conference Link is integrated with BroadData’s Operator Assisted conference management environment.
Information entered by Participants can be made available through BroadData’s browser-based Live Conference Manager, including:
- Participant name
- Company or organization
- Email address
- Conference presence
- Q&A participation
During a Q&A session, the Lead Operator can use this information to accurately identify and introduce Participants.
The call Host can also use Live Conference Manager to view Participants, follow the Q&A queue and communicate with the BroadData Operator team.
Conference Link Is Intended for Call Participants
Conference Link is primarily intended for audience Participants joining an Operator Assisted conference call.
Speakers, executives, presenters and others with a formal speaking role generally continue to use the separate Speaker instructions provided by BroadData.
This allows the Lead Operator to identify each Speaker, perform an audio check, review call procedures and ensure that Speakers are ready before the live call begins.
Clients should therefore continue providing separate Speaker and Participant connection instructions.
